$500 for dive training (however, the applicant may request the entire award amount--$1000--for training).

One award (SDI Basic Dive Training Grant) provides training directly through one of the SDI dive training facilities.

The grant is valued at $1000: $500 for dive training (however, the applicant may request the entire award amount--$1000--for training); $500 for dive gear (or the balance remaining after at least $500 has been used for dive training). Dive training must culminate in a certification from an internationally recognized diver-training agency.
