Vikki has always loved all things water from swimming, to boating, to water skiing. As a result of a misdiagnosis, Vikki was never taught to read and just learned to read this year at the age of 17. In 7 months Vikki increased from below a grade 2 reading level to a grade 6 reading level; her goal is to reach grade 10 reading by July 2021. Vikki tirelessly advocates for all students with Learning Difficulties and for a better reading curriculum in all schools across Canada. Had Vikki not learned to read this year, she would not have been able to learn to dive. She wants all people like her with Learning Difficulties to know that they can do anything they set their minds to and wishes to lead by example. Getting her diving certificate is a dream come true for Vikki.
