Sydney is an M.S. candidate in Biological Sciences at Florida Atlantic University-Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute. Her research focuses on using coral and algal symbiont genetics to inform restoration on Florida’s coral reef. Currently an AAUS Scientific Diver and PADI Rescue Diver, Sydney will use this grant to deepen her understanding of the specific challenges associated with taking photos in the underwater world, as well as increasing her ability to take striking images for science communication through her own sustainable apparel company, Tidal Tees Apparel.
