Sophie is a 15-year-old sophomore at Dreyfoos School of the Arts. She has a true passion for the oceans, especially since she lives in West Palm Beach, Florida. She recently presented at the 2016 AGU Fall meeting and 2016 National Ocean Science Meeting about citizen science that her volunteer group, Junior Friends of Macarthur Beach State Park, has done. She is currently certified as a Junior Open Water scuba diver and is planning to further her diving career with a certification as an Advanced Open Water diver with this WDHOF grant. With Advanced Open Water, she can pursue her passion for videography while spreading the message about ocean conservation.
