Sophia is a home-schooled, 13-year-old who enjoys educating youths and adults – hoping she can motivate them to make a positive difference in the health of the ocean, and ultimately in the health of our planet. She takes classes and volunteers at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, learning everything she can about an ecosystem we know so little about. She is a part of Scubanauts – a scientific, teen-diving group that works in the Florida Keys. She has discovered a new addiction to scuba diving and ocean exploration.
