Sarani completed her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media from the University of Colombo (Sri Lanka) and is currently studying for Bachelor of Law degree at University of London. Sarani holds a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver License and is currently pursuing her PADI Rescue Diver License. She is volunteering with Earth Lanka Youth Network as a Project Coordinator and a Hub Leader of Sustainable Ocean Alliance Sri Lanka. With her previous WDHOF award, she implemented her first coral in-situ conservation project in Batticaloa district, Sri Lanka. As her recent achievement, Sarani participated in COP 28, where she engaged in a panel discussion on “Fostering Equitable Just Transitions through Nature-Based Solutions.” Sarani is an entrepreneur and is currently looking forward to producing textile materials and products from recycled PET bottles.
