Sara is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Southern Mississippi researching small-scale fisheries in the Philippines. Specifically, her work investigates the connections between social and ecological systems in community-based fishing. Her research is focused on using interdisciplinary approaches to work closely with stake holdersto build sustainable fisheries that support both ecosystems.
