Rachael is a passionate scuba diver and, while working at Vobster Quay, developed an interest in marine conservation. She earned a BSc in Marine Biology from Plymouth University, while working as part of the hyperbaric chamber team at the Diving Diseases Research Centre. After completing an MSc with Heriot Watt University, and working on the MV Halton dive charter in Scapa Flow, she became interested in the hyperbaric unit in Orkney. This has inspired her to take her hyperbaric career further with the ALST training grant. She hopes to utilize her training to assist divers and eventually apply her knowledge to related research.
