Prisca is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science with minors in Chemistry and Marine Sciences at UNC Chapel Hill. She is passionate about understanding the marine environment, particularly the role of primary producers and the factors that affect their composition. As anthropogenic activities continue to alter environmental conditions such as temperature and pH, she aims to understand how phytoplankton populations are responding to these changes. Her current research investigates the role of different artificial reef materials on epiphyte composition and the presence of a toxic dinoflagellate, Gambierdiscus. She hopes this research can help guide future conservation efforts.
