Payal is a doctoral student in kinesiology at Université Laval, exploring the impact of extreme environments on physiological adaptation and human performance. Her academic training began with a focus in physiology, and she continued to earn a Master of Public Health in health management and education. Her passion for diving, particularly technical diving and hyperbaric medicine, evolved while working as a research associate at Divers Alert Network. Training as an emergency medical technician developed skills in urban and wilderness emergency management. The grant will help build a deeper and more personal understanding of the factors that impact decompression safety.
