Olivia is a first-year Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Ph.D. student at Cornell University. As a member of Dr. Drew Harvell’s lab, she enjoys studying marine disease dynamics. Her research examines the influence of biodiversity across multiple trophic scales on the transmission, prevalence, and severity of seagrass wasting disease (Labyrinthula zosterae) in eelgrass (Zostera marina). Olivia is especially eager to use her research to inform marine conservation and management practices, and in educating the next generation of students to be informed stewards of the ocean.
