Merlyn is a Ph.D. candidate with disciplinary training in Mathematics and Development Studies. In her research in the Andaman islands, India, she hopes to look at the precarious lives of the fishers using the lens of human ecology and thereby draw attention towards species interdependencies to gauge fishing in the tropical waters. In the time when she is not fussing about her research, she enjoys people gazing and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
