Marijune is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of New Brunswick in Canada. She aspires to be a marine scientist focusing on conservation, behavioral ecology, and aquaculture. Born in the Philippines, she had a career as a nurse, but felt a deep calling to pursue a career in marine biology. In 2021, she began working as a research assistant on intertidal molecular ecology projects. With this scholarship, Marijune is hoping to acquire diving skills to understand the behavior of marine species and explore the world’s oceans.
