Cecelia Connelly Memorial Graduate Scholarship in UnderwaterArchaeology, sponsored by the Connelly Family

Madeline Roth

Madeline Roth is a graduate student in the Maritime Studies Program at East Carolina University. Growing up on the shores of Lake Champlain instilled a passion for maritime archaeology that brought her to Florida, where she interned at Biscayne National Park. In her free time, she worked as a PADI instructor in the beautiful Florida Keys. Both these experiences inspired her to return to school to study cultural resource management. Her research focuses on the significance of a nineteenth-century wreck to this historic and modern South Florida community. After graduating, she hopes to pursue a career in resource management.
