Lisa Szostek is completing a B.Sc. Honours in Biology at the University of Victoria in Canada and is currently working on a project assessing storm impacts on benthic community structure on Kiritimati atoll. She is passionate about the conservation of marine ecosystems and wishes to pursue graduate studies in this field. This grant will help Lisa begin her dive career, which is an essential step to becoming a scientific diver so she can aid in understanding the dynamics and changes occurring in marine ecosystems. Lisa also aims to spread her passion by sharing her knowledge of reef ecosystems through public education programs.
