Lauren has been diving for three years and earned her open water certification her freshman year. Since then she has completed the Advanced Open Water, Wreck Diver, Underwater Naturalist, Rescue Diver and First Aid certifications. She plans to continue her diving classes with drift diver and underwater photography courses. Lauren graduated from Saint Francis University, Pennsylvania in 2013, majoring in marine biology and environmental education. Her WDHOF internship found her at the Mote Marine Laboratory, where she worked with marine mammals and sea turtles. Since then she has interned at the Blair County Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Bellwood, Pennsylvania (11 months), the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium (3 months), and since November 2013 has been working as a Wildlife Rehabilitation Intern at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida.
