Laura holds an M.S. in and is currently a researcher at the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve in Maine where she works on projects evaluating the effects of climate change on coastal ecosystems, particularly estuaries. These projects sometimes involve scuba diving to access submerged monitoring equipment, collect specimens, or conduct underwater surveys. She is pursuing a scuba certification so she can fully engage in and contribute to these and other important research efforts. Outside of work, she looks forward to being able to fully explore the underwater world she has dedicated her life to studying and protecting.
