Kimberly Mak is an aspiring explorer, conservationist, and photographer graduating with a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. During a field research program called Marine Biology Quarter, she studied shell selection behavior and population distribution of the hermit crab Pagurus Samuelis along Catalina Island’s intertidal. While there, she longed to immerse herself in the kelp forests that surround the island. Kimberly is excited to take the plunge with her diving certification to explore more marine environments and pursue her passion for marine ecosystem preservation.
