Kim is passionate about marine science, ecosystems, and conservation. She left her corporate career to live in the Philippines, where she develops and teaches marine science education programs for middle and high school students, including fieldwork and scientific methods. She advocates the “smart use of smart phones” and students creating their own community awareness programs. Her goal is to train others to run programs adapted to their coastal communities, and she shares her experiences and resources with others in marine science conferences and networks. She is a PADI Instructor and an underwater photographer and videographer.
