Katherine is a senior at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill studying biomedical engineering and marine science. She conducts research in bubble formation and circulation in decompression sickness, as well as marine mammal decompression sickness avoidance. Additionally, Katherine volunteers with the Divers Alert Network, helping with field studies related to diving physiology and safety. She will remain in this field and get her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at UNC. The WDHOF Advanced Dive Training Grant will allow Katherine to become even more involved in her field and give her skills she can use in her future career.
