Katarina is conducting graduate studies in Maritime Archaeology at the University of Zadar, Croatia, where she has gained extensive fieldwork experience. While participating in the project, “The Shipwreck of Gnalić – Mirror of the Renaissance World”, she became interested in 16th century seafaring, production and trade. Her master’s thesis research is focused on the raw materials for paint production from the Gnalić shipwreck. She will use the scholarship to improve her knowledge in nautical archaeology and archaeological conservation at Texas A&M University. Katarina’s goal is to enroll in the PhD Programme at University of Zadar, and to use acquired knowledge and skills to contribute to the improvement of methodology of interdisciplinary underwater research in Croatia.
