Jemma is an Australian ocean-lover and storyteller. She has Law and Communications degrees from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), and screened her self-funded documentary, Connected by Sea, in Hawaii in 2015. She is a scholar of seven-time world surfing champion Layne Beachley’s former foundation and funds her films through freelance writing, part-time employment at an iconic Australian charity, and disability support work. She is currently documenting the journey of her friend (2021 WDHOF grant recipient Lucelle Hudson) whose cerebral palsy hasn’t deterred her dive dreams. Thanks to WDHOF, Jemma now looks forward to diving AND documenting with Lucelle!
