Jeanne was scuba certified in 2013 and was soon after certified as an AAUS Scientific Diver at Northeastern University. She is currently a Master’s degree student at Louisiana State University, where she studies coral reproduction and population connectivity, specifically on mesophotic reefs deeper than 30 m. There is currently very limited knowledge of reproduction on deep reefs, in part, because they are located beyond standard, recreational diving limits. Jeanne will use this grant for advanced, technical dive training and equipment, which she will use to enhance our understanding of mesophotic reefs.
