Holly Trew is a graduate of Dalhousie University, Canada, with a B.Sc. in Marine Biology (First Class Honours) and is currently an MPhil student at the University of the West Indies in Barbados. She is a PADI Divemaster and has worked on many marine research and conservation projects around the Caribbean, including coral and reef herbivore monitoring in Barbados, lionfish in Honduras and Cuba, and Queen conch and reef trophic ecology in The Bahamas. Her current research focuses on the abundance, distribution and ecology of sponges on Barbados’ reefs.
