Gina is from the Big Island of Hawaii and is a freshman at Stanford University. She grew up surrounded by the ocean, the beauty and power of which inspires her to pursue a career in international marine conservation and to share her love for the ocean with the world to create a global community of preservation. In her passion to preserve the marine environment, she envisions a career path of international marine advocacy, accomplished through video, photo, and written documentation. Doing so will require a balanced background in marine science, foreign language, and multi media. She is set on earning a Master’s degree or Ph. D. in these fields so that she will be able to make a positive difference in the world at large and for the environment. She is eager to get her SCUBA certification to fulfill her goal of ocean advocacy.
