Fizala is a researcher at the Centre for Urban Ecology and Sustainability, Ambedkar University, Delhi. She has an interdisciplinary Master’s degree in Environment and Development from the School of Human Ecology. Her research interest in recent years has been the ecology and culture around wetlands and rivers. Her recent projects include artisanal fishing communities living along Brahmaputra river in Assam, and about restoration of river Yamuna’s wetlands around Delhi. She aims to pursue a Ph.D. in ecology and culture around waterscapes.
