Emory is a New England native who received her B.A. in Government from Georgetown University in 2015. After a few years working in the policy world, the desire to be near the coastal habitats among which she’d grown up led her to pivot towards coastal science. Emory worked in marine laboratories in Massachusetts, Alabama, and North Carolina before starting her M.S. at East Carolina University, where she studies oyster and salt marsh restoration. She is excited to begin diving to appreciate the ocean more fully.
