Advanced Dive Training Grants, sponsored by WDHOF

Emma Kennedy

Emma Kennedy is an early career marine scientist, whose research focuses on coral reef ecology and climate change. She first learned to dive 16 years ago in a gravel pit outside London and has never looked back! Emma now works on coralline algae on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, as part of Griffith University’s Australian Rivers Institute. Her science career has taken her diving all over the world, from counting crustaceans in Scotland to tagging whalesharks in Panama. Emma’s training grant will go towards advanced scientific dive training, so she can keep her team of researchers safe when setting up experiments in remote conditions.
