Elise learned to dive at age 12 in Puget Sound, Washington, and now at 15 she studies the ocean with the eyes of a scientist and photographer. The ocean is her second home and diving is how she explores its mysteries. Currently a STEM-focused HS student who has conducted research on factors in plankton growth, Elise wants to become a marine biologist equipped for underwater research. This WDHOF grant will help Elise complete a specialized scientific diving course for teens. She aims to help people around the world understand the ocean better. Elise also plays lacrosse, runs cross-country, skis, paints, and bakes awesome cookies for her scuba team.
