Aggressor Adventures/Sea of Change Foundation Scholarship in Conservation, sponsored by Aggressor Adventures and Sea of Change Foundation (WDHOF Member Anne Hasson)

Eileen Bates

Eileen is a graduate student at the University of Washington School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences, working with Puget Sound Restoration Fund and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to restore pinto abalone to the San Juan Islands in northwest Washington. She will use her WDHOF award to fund dive surveys at abalone restoration sites where she will place oceanographic sensor arrays to track changes in temperature and pH. Her data will be used to select locations for future pinto abalone restoration sites. Eileen is excited to complete AAUS scientific diver training and incorporate diving into her graduate research.
