Since receiving the WDHOF Women Underwater Technical Diving Training Grant Delia completed an IANTD introductory cave diver course in the Lot region of France. Upon graduation from her M.A. in Maritime Archaeology at the University of Southern Denmark she began working as a Maritime Archaeologist at Bohusläns Museum on Sweden’s west coast. Building upon a HSE commercial diving course in Scotland in 2007, she has continued with commercial diving education and currently holds the Swedish commercial diving A40 certificate. She works as a project manager along with three other maritime archaeologists and the majority of their work is comprised of commercial archaeological projects. The work involves planning, coordinating, and reporting of archaeological excavations and surveys, and of course diving. Diving operations always involve at least three individuals: dive leader, standby diver, and main diver. While career goals have focused on commercial diving, Delia is extremely grateful for the support of the WDHOF and the opportunity to continue her diving education.
