Chelsea is a fellow in the Michigan Society of Fellows and the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan. She studies the ecology of parasites and pathogens in marine and freshwater ecosystems. She received her Ph.D. from Stanford University’s Hopkins Marine Station in 2013, studying the impacts of fishing on marine parasites. She also teaches and mentors undergraduate students. Her research interests continue to be ecology of parasites and pathogens, community ecology, marine and aquatic biology, conservation biology, effects of environmental change on disease dynamics, and zoonotic disease agents.
