Catherine is an artist and sailor based in Durham, NC. She does most of her work in and with community. In 2014, she co-founded the Durham Artists Movement, a collective centering marginalized identities in linking art with social justice in Durham, NC. In expansion of this work, she initiated the Art Asylum, which builds creative pathways and reduces isolation among folks who struggle with mental health and addiction. Her hope is that teaching scuba to folks who wouldn’t otherwise have access to it will be a catalyst toward creative connectivity and social change in her community.
