Graduate Scholarship in Marine Conservation, sponsored by the Women Divers Hall of Fame

Caroline Rodriguez

Caroline is working on her Master’s in Marine Science at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories and is interested in marine organisms’ physiological response to climate change stressors. In particular, she focuses on the molecular mechanisms that corals use to adjust to changing ocean temperatures. For her research, she will be sampling corals in the Galapagos that have survived a bleaching event, in order to better understand coral temperature tolerance. In the future, she plans to use her education to work at the forefront of marine conservation and environmental justice for populations disproportionally harmed by climate change.
