When she received this scholarship, Bridget was a graduate student in the Wildlife and Fisheries Department at Texas A & M University undergoing scientific diver training through the American Academy of Underwater Sciences. She received her B.S. in general biology at the University of Arizona. She began diving in 2002 in the Gulf of California. She has since gotten married and has two children. She lives in Arizona.
