Anita is currently a senior at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa working towards her B.S. in Marine Biology. She is one of the few undergraduate students currently working at the Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology at Moku o Lo‘e, a private island owned by the university used just for research. She is the projects manager at the Paul Jokiel Coral Reef Ecology Lab, and is also currently interning at the Waikiki Aquarium. She completed her directed research in the summer of 2016 studying coral reef expansion in Kāne‘ohe Bay and reef slope angles. This Advanced Dive Training Grant will help fund her Scientific Diver Qualification Course, a program required by the university.
