Andrea holds a B.S. in Marine Biology and a B.A. in Studio Art from UNCW and will complete her M.S. in Marine Biology in 2014. Andrea became a certified diver at the age of 12 and fell in love with the sport and the creatures under the surface. As a graduate student, she utilized her AAUS Scientific diving skills while conducting research in St. Croix (USVI) and participated in a UNOLS research cruise from Miami to the Bahamas. She has worked for multiple marine education programs, including the NC Aquarium. Andrea is also actively involved in the arts and plans to attend the graduate certificate program in Science Illustration at CSUMB. She hopes a career in science illustration will allow her to continue serving the ocean community, perhaps as a museum exhibit designer, an illustrator for field guides, or as a freelancer for science magazines.
