Amisha Nakhwa

Always captivated by the natural world, Amisha holds a Master’s degree in Animal Behaviour, and wishes to pursue a Ph.D., narrowing her focus on behavioural studies of marine megafauna. Belonging to the native fishermen community of coastal Mumbai, she developed an intrinsic connection towards marine life, fueling her desire to contribute to its conservation. Through her involvement with wildlife research and non-profit organizations, she has dedicated herself to this cause. She is currently studying sensory biology of carnivores like pinnipeds. Acquiring a diving certification will help expand her abilities while facilitating her research efforts requiring working alongside marine fauna in-situ.
