Aislyn is a senior at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She is pursuing a B.S. in Sustainability and Spanish with a minor in Marine Biology. She spent three months researching the effects of mangrove deforestation on near-shore coral reefs in Honduras while interning as a research assistant at the Whale Shark and Oceanic Research Center. She will be presenting her research at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research in Memphis, TN this April. Aislyn hopes to attend graduate school for conservation biology and shark ecology. Her ultimate goal is to bring the ocean to people around the world who otherwise would not experience it. By increasing awareness and accountability, she expects to bridge the gap between the scientific community and the public.
